The next morning Nicole woke up groggily in Truce’s bed. Truce was still asleep. Nicole then stood up and walked out of Truce’s room to Diego’s room. She saw that Diego was asleep as well. She smiled. She kissed his cheek and then walked to the bathroom to get herself ready for the day.
After Nicole was finished getting ready she left Diego’s room and then walked to the kitchen. She found her old friend Kabocha. One look at her and he said, “You look like you need something to relieve a hangover.”
“Yes, please,” said Nicole.
Kabocha quickly concocted a drink for Nicole and gave it to her. Nicole almost spat it out. It tasted awful, but she quickly gulped it down.
“There we go,” said Kabocha, smiling, “Now let’s get these dishes ready for the royals.”
In the dining hall, Diego sat across from Vegeta beside King Vegeta. Truce sat beside Vegeta. Diego noticed King Vegeta seemed to be in an irritated mood.
“Grandfather, I have to tend to some business in the city today,” said Diego, “It seems we have some saiyans trying to leave without permission to other planets.”
King Vegeta grunted out an okay.
“I’ll be accompanying him to check some illegal contraband near the markets,” said Vegeta.
King Vegeta grunted out another okay.
The servants then walked in. King Vegeta watched Nicole with narrowed eyes.
Later that morning, after Diego and Vegeta left, King Vegeta was sitting in his throne room. He looked at Kabocha, who was polishing some things on the walls and said, “You. Kabocha.”
Kabocha looked back at King Vegeta and said, “Yes, my lord?”
“I need you to tell the servant Dimitri to bring me a cup of tea.”
“Yes, right away, my lord.”
Moments later, Nicole followed Kabocha back into the throne room. She carried a cup of tea with her. She walked past Kabocha and stood before King Vegeta. “Tea, your majesty?” asked Nicole.
“Yes,” said King Vegeta, with no expression on his face. “Bring it here.”
“Yes, sir,” said Nicole. She then walked to King Vegeta. As she went to give him the tea, King Vegeta the grimaced and slapped Nicole’s face. Nicole dropped the cup of tea on King Vegeta’s foot and fell to the floor. Blood began to leak from her lip.
“How dare you?” said King Vegeta, angrily standing up. He then kicked Nicole’s stomach.
Nicole grunted in pain. “S-sir?” said Nicole, “I don’t understand.”
“Kabocha!” said King Vegeta, “Bring me my whip!”
“Sir!” said Kabocha, surprised, “What-?”
“I said now!”
Kabocha left the room in a hurry. A few moments later he returned with a whip in his hands. King Vegeta snatched it out of his hands. He then said to Nicole, “Get on your knees and don’t move.”
Nicole sat up off the floor and sat on her knees. “I don’t understand what I’ve done,” she said.
Then came the first blow from the whip. Nicole bit her lip to hold back a cry of pain.
“You need to learn your place, boy,” said King Vegeta, “I saw you with Princess Truce last night.”
Another blow from the whip lashed across Nicole’s back.
“I should kill you.”
Horrified, Kabocha left the throne room and hurried out of the palace to search for Diego and Vegeta. He was in luck as he entered the city. Diego and Vegeta were on their way back to the palace.
“Prince Diego! Prince Vegeta!” called out Kabocha. He bowed and then said, “Quick! It’s Dimitri! King Vegeta is giving him the whip!”
Diego and Vegeta were stunned. Diego then quickly ran past Kabocha to the palace. Vegeta followed. As Diego got to the throne room, he was horrified that Nicole was kneeling as King Vegeta whipped her. As Vegeta ran in, Diego ran to King Vegeta and said, “STOP!”
“Ah, Prince Diego,” said King Vegeta.
“Why are you punishing him for?”
“I caught him with your sister last night,” said King Vegeta, “He ought to be put to death. And, he spilled tea on my boot.” An idea then struck King Vegeta. “However, I’ll let you finish punishing the boy since he’s your personal servant.”
“No-I,” said Diego, lost for words.
Vegeta walked up to them and said, “I think he’s been punished enough.”
“Not nearly enough,” said King Vegeta. He then looked at Diego. “Well?”
Do it, Diego, came Nicole’s voice in Diego’s head, If you don’t, it’ll blow my cover.
Nicole…thought Diego. He then sighed and said, “Okay.”
Vegeta looked at Diego shocked. “Diego!” he said.
I have to, Diego said telepathically to Vegeta, Nicole even told me to.
Vegeta looked away from Diego to Nicole.
Diego then began to whip Nicole. Nicole had not cried at all then King Vegeta whipped her, despite the pain, but as soon as Diego started, she couldn’t stop herself.
Suddenly, the doors to the other side of the throne room burst open and Truce marched in. It just so happened that Kabocha went to Truce after retrieving Diego and Vegeta. She marched right up to Diego, snatched the whip from him, and threw it on the floor. She then slapped his face.
“How dare you!” Truce roared at Diego. She then looked at King Vegeta and said, “Why is he being punished?”
“What was he doing with you last night?” asked King Vegeta.
“I had him escort me to a place and we came back,” said Truce, “Nothing more! My gosh! He’s gay! I would be more worried about him being with Bardy than myself!”
King Vegeta, Diego, and Vegeta were all speechless. Truce then helped Nicole up. Blood dripped from under Nicole’s outfit. Diego felt guilt flood through him. Truce then escorted Nicole out of the throne room.
King Vegeta made a disgusted noise and then said, “I’ll have one of the servants clean the blood up.” He then walked out of the throne room.
Diego could barely breathe. He looked at the floor, unable to comprehend why he did what he had just done.
Vegeta shook his head and then left to go see about Truce and Nicole.
A tear slid down Diego’s cheek as he thought, What have I done?
